Altichiero has a ruby red colour with garnet tones; aromas of great complexity that indulge a little at a time, from wilted rose to sweet tobacco to pomegranate jam but with a delicately balsamic finish.
The flavour is of great acid-tannic balance with enveloping harmony of roasted flavours and alcoholic power.
It expresses its best as a meditation wine… at the table it goes well with game, truffle dishes, with aged hard cheeses paired with red fruit preserves.
